In the summer of 2018 we plan to conduct two camps which will be days for two weeks. The camps will culminate with a show which the students will get to perform at least 4 times, more if demand dictates. Students enrolled are guaranteed casting but which students get which roles will be determined by auditions which are part of the learning process. Dates, tuition and the shows have not yet been selected.
The camp ages will be…
- Youth Camp — "Junior Show" — students entering grades 6, 7, 8, 9
- Kids Camp — "Kids Show" — students entering grades 3, 4, 5
Our curriculum design is in its infancy but will likely provide two main paths…
- On Stage — including acting at various levels, stage management and directing.
- Backstage — technical areas which include scenic, lighting, sound and video at various levels as there is demand.
The curriculum will focus on "moving students up the ladder" with classroom work coming to life in workshops where students learn by doing, taking them as high as they want to go, even into technical design areas. Our curriculum needs to reflect the real world where as many people are involved in producing the show as are involved in presenting it and none of that would happen at all if someone didn't create it. So we hope to find enough creative writers who aspire to being playwrights and helping them along their path as well.
There are no classes currently scheduled.
